The American Bulldog is a really smart and loving dog that is very at ease with its family and friends. Bulldogs have a strong natural instinct to guard and protect, so strangers should always be carefully introduced to your Bulldog. American Bulldogs are great family pets and really love children, but some Bulldogs don't realize their own strength and, even though friendly, they should be watched around smaller children. Socialization and exercise is key to owning an American Bulldog. If you don't have the time to dedicate for the proper training and socialization of this dog through the course of its entire life, PLEASE DO NOT get a dog.
